Who are we?

Christ Church International School is a Christ-centered primary school based in Arusha, Tanzania and operates under the ownership of the Diocese of Mount Kilimanjaro. We are committed to providing high-quality education, in a caring, peaceful environment to students from all nations and backgrounds. Founded as a school focused on providing education for missionary families, we have maintained our focus on developing each of our students into the unique people God has created them to be.

We want to invite teachers currently enrolled in a training programme to engage in field work at CCIS. By performing fieldwork at a recognised international school teachers will have the opportunity to familiarise themselves with international school systems, and gain valuable experience that will make them more attractive candidates to future employers.

Fieldwork Opportunities

Fieldwork at CCIS may include work in various aspects of the school such as:

The Classroom

❖ Reading with struggling students.
❖ Working with high-needs learners.
❖ Preparing lesson materials for Lead Teacher.
❖ Supporting during group activities.
❖ Organising classroom materials.
❖ Assisting in classroom management issues.
❖ Other needs that may arise from the Lead Teacher.

 

Extra-Curricular Activities

❖ Planning and leading an elective or afterschool activity such as sports games, art, computer skills, music, gardening, etc.
❖ Supporting an existing extra-curricular activity.

 

Improvement of Outdoor Facilities

❖ Providing materials, skills, or simply your time to the development and improvement of our outdoor facilities including playground space and equipment, garden and plants, and aesthetics of the school buildings.

 

Library

❖ Organising and maintaining books in accordance with the current system.
❖ Receiving new books and entering them into our library system.
❖ Assisting students in returning and checking out books.
❖ Reading with students.

How do I join?

Fieldwork candidates of CCIS accept that this is an unpaid position that does not guarantee employment. If accepted, candidates will have to receive Child Safety Training and sign a commitment to upholding our school policies regarding Child Safety.
